About the Instructor


Laura Rocha

Laura is the founder of Baker School of Riding and is a partner in Baker Farm and Equestrian Center, LLC. She is a graduate of Houghton College where she completed a bachelor's degree in Equestrian Studies in 2008. Laura has been riding, showing, and working with horses for over 25 years, and began teaching lessons and training horses in 2005. She has ridden or competed in huntseat, dressage, eventing, show jumping, western pleasure, western gaming, and trail

riding, but is most passionate about dressage. She specializes in helping riders use biomechanics to improve their riding in any discipline. Laura has gained experience studying with USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist Janet Youse,  USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist Valerie McCloskey, Swedish Warmblood Breeder Deb Borra, FEI licensed judge Carel Eijkenaar, USDF Gold Medalist Ilse Schwarz, and with the late Walter Zettl, author and a coach of the 1984 bronze-medal winning Olympic team. Laura loves to apply what she has learned about classical dressage training to improve horses and riders in all disciplines, and strives to provide a fun, safe learning environment for every student.
