Laura Baker

Laura is the founder of Baker School of Riding and is a partner in Baker Farm and Equestrian Center, LLC. She is a graduate of Houghton College where she completed a bachelor's degree in Equestrian Studies in 2008. Laura has been riding, showing, and working with horses for over 20 years, and teaching lessons and training horses since 2005. She has ridden or competed in huntseat, dressage, eventing, show jumping, western pleasure, western gaming, and trail riding.  She has gained experience studying with Deb Borra, FEI licensed judge Carel Eijkenaar, and with Walter Zettl, author and a coach of the 1984 bronze-medal winning Olympic team. Laura currently regularly studies with Janet Youse, who is a certified USDF instructor and Bronze and Silver medalist. Laura loves to apply what she has learned about classical dressage training to improve horses and riders in all disciplines, and strives to provide a fun, safe learning environment for every student.
 

About the Instructor

Faith Scarborough

Faith has been working and volunteering at BSR for the last 7 years, and has had experience teaching beginning and intermediate riders for the last 3 years, both in private lessons and in large group lessons. Faith has assisted with training multiple horses on the farm, including backing young horses, and training green horses. She has also competed in dressage the last several years, and has expanded her experience into jumping. She is continuing her education with weekly lessons with Laura. She is currently competing through training level dressage, and hopes to further her show experience in the future.
